The US-Netherlands Connection Project’s Academic Teams Program
SUMMARY: In 2013-2014, the Florida Earth Foundation will gather thinkers from education, industry, government and non-governmental organizations, including a select and diverse class of Ph.D. and J.D. candidates, to tackle a looming international crisis of special concern to low-lying coastal communities: sea level rise. The participants in this Intercultural Collaboration will exchange ideas and produce recommendations that will help to shape man’s response to rising seas. Through a coordinating series of meetings, this consortium will exchange knowledge on the real world problem of rising seas and derive pragmatic, non-partisan solutions. The Collaboration will then produce a series of reports and offer services to act as an independent body for peer review for projects and products associated with sea level adaptation and resiliency.
